At the Copa, Copa America!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO: James great 1990's CD "Laid". Anybody know if they still do music?

WHAT I'M READING: Just started "God is not Great" by Christopher Hitchens

WHAT I'M WATCHING: Finished UFC Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale. Got some Bill Moyers to view, and starting tomorrow is the Copa America on GolTV. More below.

Welcome to below.

Copa America 2007 starts tomorrow, going through July 15th. Last summer it was every game of the World Cup on the Disney networks, this summer it's every game of the Copa America on GolTV, and next summer it's every game of Euro 2008 on the Disney networks. It's good to be a football fan in America.

As always, I'll toss out my predictions. As always, they'll be about 50% correct. Here it goes, starting with the group stages.

GROUP A:
1. Uruguay
2. Venezuela
3. Peru
4. Bolivia

GROUP B:
1. Brazil
2. Ecuador
3. Mexico
4. Chile

GROUP C:
1. Argentina
2. Paraguay
3. Colombia
4. United States of America

We're taking a young squad. It'll be great experience for the guys to prepare for World Cup qualifying, which begins next summer and revs up in 2009, and should help make us a force at World Cup 2010. But I can't see that lineup getting enough points to advance from a tough, tough group.

QUARTER-FINAL:
1. Uruguay v. Colombia
2. Mexico v. Ecuador
3. Brazil v. Paraguay
4. Argentina v. Venezuela

SEMI-FINAL
1. Uruguay v. Ecuador
2. Brazil v. Argentina

THIRD PLACE GAME
1. Brazil over Ecuador

FINAL
1. Argentina over Uruguay

Argentina (don't cry for me) are taking a very loaded lineup, and have some great young talent to show. Messi is on top of the world right now.

It should be awesome. My first Copa America, as it's usually not shown anywhere but PPV. South American football is still very foreign to me, so I'm looking forward to learning while I enjoy.

GolTV is showing all 26 games live, so check the local listings.

Father's Day

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO: The Pixies. Where is my mind?

WHAT I'M READING: Just started Bill Moyers book "Moyers on America". Finished up the Woodward trilogy on Bush. Excellent stuff.

WHAT I'M WATCHING: Weekend? Soccer! MLS and La Liga (that still going on?).

Just a few quick notes. It's Father's Day. Hopefully all the daddys out there are celebrating and being celebrated today. Remember to love on those kids, because they're the reason we get this day. We'll be spending the day in Michigan having fun in the sun.

I know I have a personal boycott of all things Paris Hilton. But I had to laugh when I saw this. On the cover of one of those supermarket tabloid/entertainment magazines this week is a photo of the Great Blond Idiot with the headline "How prison has changed Paris".

What the fuck!??!

The GBI has been in jail for what, one week (not even consecutive, is it?) and already it's changed her?

Look, she's too stupid to ever change, and daddy's got the money to make sure she doesn't have to. She'll come out, the press will fawn for no good reason, and she'll go back to being worthless and wasting space on the planet. She'll keep on partying, keep on driving drunk, not pay attention to simple things like getting a license, keep on getting roles in direct to video trash, keep putting out horrible albums that she claims are great, and keep getting coverage for it all.

She's unattractive. Has no talent. And is stupid.

But she's rich, so she'll keep getting press coverage.

It's times like these that make you say America has it's priorities screwed up.

Somewhere there is a minority in prison who didn't commit the crime but couldn't afford quality legal help facing twenty, or life, or possibly even the death penalty.

But our press wastes times on this GBI who's in jail for what, twenty days, for a crime she'll continue to commit.

It's a Boy!

Just a quick blog.

Found out last Tuesday that the wife and I are having another boy.

That gives me two boys, who I plan to send to Mexico at the right age so they may form a tag team and dominate the Lucha Libre scene (that's pro wrestling in Mexico)!

His name shall be Sullivan.

He shall not be referred to as Number Two Son.

Very happy to have another boy. The family name shall live on!!
